According to the theory (proposed by Grant Hardy in this presentation), Alma 9-13 should parallel Alma 39-42. The expression "light and knowledge" is found three times in the entire Book of Mormon (Alma 9:23, Alma 39:6, and Alma 45:12). This is no coincidence.
