Jeff Lindsay discusses thematic connections between the Book of Mormon and Book of Moses.  One of the many examples he cites is comparing 1 Nephi 14:7

7 For the time cometh, saith the Lamb of God, that I will work a great and a marvelous work among the children of men; a work which shall be everlasting, either on the one hand or on the other—either to the convincing of them unto peace and life eternal, or unto the deliverance of them to the hardness of their hearts and the blindness of their minds unto their being brought down into captivity, and also into destruction, both temporally and spiritually, according to the captivity of the devil, of which I have spoken.

...with Moses 4:4

4 And he became Satan, yea, even the devil, the father of all lies, to deceive and to blind men, and to lead them captive at his will, even as many as would not hearken unto my voice.
Is it possible that the Brass Plates contained text similar to what we find in the Book of Moses?  I find that idea very intriguing.

Consider further the possible connection between the beginning of 1 Nephi 14:7 "I will work a great and a marvelous work among the children of men; a work which shall be everlasting, either on the one hand or on the other—either to the convincing of them unto peace and life eternal" with the well-known verse in Moses 1:39:

39 For behold, this is my work and my glory—to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.
