In Mosiah 29, King Mosiah-2 argues to the people against having a king. He gives many reasons. One of them is that his son Aaron (the man the people want as his successor) might not always be as righteous as he is at the moment
9 And if my son should turn again to his pride and vain things he would recall the things which he had said, and claim his right to the kingdom, which would cause him and also this people to commit much sin. This is consistent with what we read earlier in Mosiah about the wickedness of Mosiah's sons, and their recent conversion.
